Her comment here is listed on the poker promotion blog I wrote back in December. I thought it would be prudent to be front and center on the blog mainly because Mary has the very same skepticism as some of my close friends in Winnipeg I shared this system with.
Read below and then I will comment on her curiosity...
Hi Bennett and readers, I am going to embark on Bennett's path using his methods toward improving memory at poker. Clearly, it's not the only thing that needs improving in my poker game but I am happy to improve what I can. Do I think it will work? Because there's plenty room for improvement, I'm sure it will work to some extent. Will I be able to increase my memory in a way that is truly awesome? I am not quite so sure about that, but I'm willing to keep an open mind. I can have trouble remembering people's names that I've played poker with dozens of times, so any help in memory enhancement is appreciated. I'm very curious though - how can an enhanced memory help me at poker. It's not like I'm counting cards.... what is this benefit that I may gain through developing these skills. Curious, yes I am.
I am proud to have a system so new to poker that I get curiosity and questions like these. As you recall @damienvince blindly followed my instructions and did not know how an enhanced memory could be applied. The same happened with @davidsmith23, and now @ponderingpoker has those same thoughts. So for those readers who are contemplating if this system works, @ponderingpoker and I met through twitter, the same as my other trainees. Since they haven't invented teleportation yet, you can reasonably be assured I didn't fly to New York and meet her. I am now training 3 different people from 3 different parts of North America at the same time thru video conferencing and twitter messages.
First of all Mary, I will not be enhancing your memory. Your brain has already recorded everything you have ever said and ever done. In short your memory is already awesome. Since paper and books have been invented, humans have slowly but surely lost the age old art of keeping information in their head. I will simply be teaching you this art that has been rediscovered by the people like Harry Lorrayne. Unfortunately the more computers become a part of our lives, the more we get away from what our brains are truly capable of. The proof is in the two individuals I have trained thus far, and I will further prove with you. You can believe I am a magical person that has suddenly over a 10 day period "given" these powers to @davidsmith23 and @damienvince, or I have just unleashed what was hidden there all along. Hence the title of my book " UNLEASH YOUR HIDDEN poker memory".
@damienvince has told me in private messages just yesterday in fact that he is already extrapolating what he can do with my system, or rather his memory he now knows how to use. He was extremely skeptical when we started, and in less than 2 weeks he is as far as I know a big believer in the edge you will gain from the training you will receive.
I am very much looking forward to teaching you this art, and I am glad you got my ARC. Keep in mind there are many errors in the ARC, and we have corrected them for the final printing, which is happening as we speak.
One final thought, Stu Ungar was in my opinion, one of the greatest tournament players that ever lived. He was said to have had an eidetic memory. He is the inspiration for this system, and I hope you enjoy it.
I am looking forward to your results of the baseline in the training blog.
Good luck and we will chat tomorrow.
Bennett
