Couldn't have said it better myself....
In theory, practice makes perfect. As I journey further into the studies of memory, that phrase seems a bit short. It should be: Practice makes perfect practice. Thus far, I have grown in many aspects in the game of poker and in memory training. I have grown to have more patience and I truly believe I will be able to perfect my game of poker and eventually become unbeatable.
Since I have started training, I have came to the conclusion in three things:
1) You are born with the ability to memorize anything but in order to harness to full power of memorization, you have to practice until you know it like the back of your hand.
2) In order to be the best at anything, you must have patience. It may take 1, 2, 6, 12 months to achieve your goal, but as long as you have patience, you can achieve anything
3) Practice gives you an edge over your "competition". Run an extra mile, do 150 push ups, study memorization for 6 instead of 5 hours. You do what it takes to become the best.
I have a strong belief in my ability now that I have started the memory training. As long as I continue to train I will reach my goal in becoming a poker pro.
Make sure to be on the lookout for a new post on Tuesday. I will write about my experience at the weekly bar tourney and how I used my newly acquired techniques to help give me an edge over my competition at the table.
