@davidsmith23 has a new nickname for me and is determined

Another great week in the world of poker and memorization.  In the previous post I mentioned that I would write a post on Tuesday.  Well, I wanted to wait now so I could sum up this week in poker training.   This week and last week in the poker tournaments were quite successfull.  I am currently ranked 14th in the region for the World Poker Tour Amateur league and a lot of my thanks goes to Bennett aka Yoda.  Due to the high action at the tables in the league I play in, I've been very successful at focusing on the percentages, but Bennett mentioned, in order for me to become the best at poker I have to implement the Techniques we've been studying for the past six weeks.

After thinking about what Yoda said, it only made more sense.  If I were at a real life poker tournament playing for cash, I would be crushed because 1) I wouldn't have no idea what my opponent may hold in his hand.  2) Playing my cards are like a shot in the dark: Yes I may hold QQ in my hand but if A23 unsuited comes out on the flop I may be at a disadvantage.  Going all in at this point would only be foolish and my demise would come quicker then I wanted too.  Using Yoda's force like techniques would ultimately put me at a 30% and up advantage over those playing at my table, because I would know everything that is going on at the table.  I wouldn't be bluffed, robbed, chased out of a hand, nothing because I run the table.  I will become a poker player tracking system.  Sounds a bit farfecthed but believe me, from what @Damienvince @Ponderingpoker and myself have witnessed, It is possible.

I recently expressed my views to my mother and father about poker and why I want to do it.  My mother was not comfortable with the idea or being a pro because she's heard the stories of people gambling their lives away and becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol.  She is just concerned for her baby boy, but she taught me self-control, awareness, the basics of life so I will be okay.  My father though, he had a different view from what my mother had.  He said, "son, if you do this, you have to become the Muhammad Ali, the Floyd Mayweather, the Joe Frazier, the absolute best at this.  If you know you're are going to half ass this, don't do it."  When he said that, it touched my soul because it feels great to have a parent that believes in me and my ability.  My mother eventually agreed with my father and they said they will make sure to make it to Las Vegas to watch me play.  So, I have no choice but to be the best and I have to put in the work to reach my goal.  My first true test comes on April 2nd in Las Vegas, NV at the World Poker Tour Amateur Championship held at the Tropicana Resort.  I have about one month and one week to prepare, by that time my skills will be superior to what my level is now and I will win the championship.

I'll make sure to post another blog on Wednesday.  I'll be testing out the latest techniques Yoda have giving me and will let you know my progress.
